Teddy Roosevelt was a spoiled little brat who wanted to destroy Standard Oil on a personal vendetta. All “monopoly busting” is nothing more than the government creating a monopoly. Teddy also oversaw the establishment of the FDA. Due to the FDA, millions of people die every year because they’re not getting the drug treatments they need. His “food inspection” agencies also made sure people starved to death if they were not part of his favored industries. Teddy was also such an environmentalist nutjob that he bought up land for the government—to stop development—and banned Christmas trees. I’m just glad he didn’t pass his universal health-care scheme.

What could possibly go wrong? President Obama just nominated his former Presidential campaign political director to become the new head of the Office of Personnel Management which oversees Federal hiring practices.

President Obama will tap Katherine Archuleta, his reelection campaign’s national political director, as the next head of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the White House said Thursday.

“Katherine brings to the Office of Personnel Management broad experience and a deep commitment to recruiting and retaining a world-class workforce for the American people,” President Obama said in a statement. “I am grateful Katherine has agreed to serve, and I look forward to working with her in the coming years.”

Archuleta will replace former OPM director John Berry, whose term expired last month. Elaine Kaplan — who the president has nominated to the Court of Federal Claims — has been leading the department in an acting role since then.

Mark my words, the story in the media will not be that Obama is politicizing another Federal office in the middle of the ongoing IRS scandal. No, it will be all about how Archuleta is a Latino woman, because Democrats view everything through the prism of race. And if you oppose her confirmation, well then you’re just a dirty Tea Partying racist, aren’t you?

For a campaign political lackey to be in charge of Federal hiring should give anyone of pause, regardless of your party leanings.
